Day 1: Our journey takes us via Derby for a lunch break. Arriving at our hotel check in and welcome drinks reception followed by evening dinner with a promotional £1 bar (lager/wine) between 8-10pm. Day 2: After breakfast this morning we visit the award winning Imperial War Museum at Duxford (entrance cost included), with various exhibitions. There are 7 hangers in total and visits take between 3-4 hours (or all day) depending on interest. Returning to the hotel for evening dinner with quiz night to follow and of course the £1 bar (lager/wine) between 8-10pm. Day 3: Following breakfast this morning we leave the hotel and return home via Bletchley Park (entrance cost included). Have a look through the ornate Victorian Mansion that was the headquarters to intelligence staff during the War; see the Enigma Machines, including the rare ‘Abwebr G312’ but there is much more than machines in a visit to Bletchley Park, check out the tales of spies and strategic deception, there’s a wartime cinema and an outstanding Churchill collection, you may even be the one to discover the map to genius mathematician Alan Turing’s silver, supposedley buried in or near Bletchley Park, or just relax by the Lake and observe the wildlife. Departing for home at approx 14.00.
